Dispatches from Million Week -- Tuesday

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The Arlington Million has drawn one day closer.

The draw comes later this afternoon.  Leading up to that, there has been one more defection from the Arlington Million field.  Yesterday, it was announced that Big Blue Kitten would likely defect due to a foot abscess.  Today, it’s his stablemate in the Chad Brown barn, Takeover Target.  He will run on August 13 — but will target the Fourstardave Handicap (GI) at Saratoga instead of the Million.

Tomorrow should be a particularly eventful morning.  The New York contingent arrived on site today: horses from Chad Brown, Todd Pletcher, Bill Mott, and Mark Casse.  They should be out on the track to train soon.  Furthermore, likely Arlington Million favourite Tryster is expected to blow out tomorrow morning.  Picks and Ponderings will be on site for all of the action on Wednesday, with pictures here as well as on our Twitter feed.
