Three Major U.S. Constitution Revisions Needed Immediately

Three Major U.S. Constitution Revisions Needed Immediately

“Low information voters” may be the single greatest euphemism of all time.

We don’t even need to say what that phrase actually means, because you already know, but it’s critically important, as this group is something the U.S. Constitution wasn’t designed to handle; at all.

Restoring Net Neutrality: What You Can Do Now to Help

Restoring Net Neutrality: What You Can Do Now to Help

Last Thursday was an exceedingly dark day for our democracy, as net neutrality was repealed by the Federal Communications Commission, by a vote of 3-2. This despite the fact that Net neutrality is something that almost all Americans are in favor of, and consistently voice their support for.

Yet FCC Chairman Ajit Pai, a former Verizon lawyer appointed by the Donald Trump administration, who is acting strictly in the interests of the telecommunications lobby, pushed for and got what he wanted, despite the fact it flies in the face of the common interest.

If Donald Trump Fires Robert Mueller, then Nothing Matters

If Donald Trump Fires Robert Mueller, then Nothing Matters
Late night talk show hosts have often practiced this bit of dark comedy during the Donald Trump administration: Trump gets caught doing something deplorable, an act which would end the career of anybody else but him, and he suffers no consequences. The talk show host then says "Oh, because nothing actually matters anymore." It will definitely feel that way, if/when Trump fires Special Counsel Robert Mueller. If that maneuver is in the works, and as of right now, no one can say for sure, Trump would likely do it during the holidays so as to minimize attention...

#MeToo vs Donald Trump: Irresistible Force vs Immovable Object

#MeToo vs Donald Trump: Irresistible Force vs Immovable Object

President Donald Trump has been called the Teflon Don by many because nothing seems to stick when it comes to potentially stopping him. However, now he's facing not one, but two irresistible forces closing in on the immovable object that he truly seems to be.

As we've chronicled before, we've seen Trump survive countless situations since 2015 that would have ended the career of absolutely anybody else. Will the #MeToo movement finally terminate his political career? How about the Robert Mueller investigation into his potential treasonous collusion with Russia?

NFL Ratings Keep Tanking; For Business, NOT Political Reasons

NFL Ratings Keep Tanking; For Business, NOT Political Reasons

President Donald Trump, and the people who support him, love to take credit for driving NFL ratings down, but the facts tell a completely different story. The rise of the #MAGA movement, and the alternative reality where Trump and the FOX News Channel audience lives has inspired a "facts don't matter anymore" narrative, but the data and numbers simply don't care about that popular misnomer.

NFL ratings are plummeting due to supply and demand, and emerging economic forces in a rapidly changing media landscape. There's nothing partisan, political or even ideological about this. It's all business, not personal. Don't blame Colin Kaepernick or Marshawn Lynch.

Apu on The Simpsons: Are We Racist for Finding Him Hilarious?

Apu on The Simpsons: Are We Racist for Finding Him Hilarious?

It's commonplace in 2017  for people to say, "Everything is politicized these days."

There's great veracity to that statement when seemingly harmless situations can still be used as  platforms to launch sociopolitically offensive messages.

Two examples are Apu Nahasapeemapetilon of The Simpsons and the Catcade, a Lakeview cat shelter/video arcade hybrid.

Stand Up for Net Neutrality Now! We Can't Afford to Lose this Fight!

Stand Up for Net Neutrality Now! We Can't Afford to Lose this Fight!
It can be very tiring sometimes, having to consistently stand up and fight so for so many of our basic rights. However, if we don't stand up right now and fight to save Net Neutrality, then it's going to become a helluva lot harder to stand up and fight for all our other basic rights. Net Neutrality may sound extremely boring (what- IP routing protocols aren't your bag?) and like something that's not relevant to our everyday lives, but you'll really miss it, if and when it's gone. If the Federal Communications Commission votes to repeal net neutrality in nine days, then our daily lives will change dramatically, and greatly for the worse. However, we still have plenty of time to protest and make our voices heard...
