Space is a premium. Sometimes we have to make tough decisions on how we want to use our space. What is important and what do we want around us. We learn a lot of our organizing skills through our parents, friends, and coworkers.
We all have things that we stock up on and things we buy when needed. Here are a few of the things that I don’t stock up on anymore.
- Cards- I simply don’t have the space. I get cards as needed. I do keep a small stack of thank you notes in my desk.
- Baking items. Who doesn’t love a good chocolate chip cookie or brownie? My mom always had cake mixes in the cabinet. I used to do the same. Now, I only keep the basics and buy items as I need them. Sometimes I am baking every week for events and parties, then I don’t bake for months.
- Office supplies. I find that I only use specific things like pens, paper, and paper clips. I have downsized my supplies and keep one drawer of items(and yes, a huge supply of post it notes for work).
- First Aid Supplies- I never get sick so what is the point. They just expire. I do keep one box of band aids(on the job hazards).
What items did you used to keep an inventory that you no longer do? Its all about what you need and your space!!
