As I sat here this morning watching the clock, I started to fume. The guy that was supposed to show up and buy the air conditioner was 40 minutes late. I offered to help my neighbor sell a few things in part to get them out of the basement and to try the new apps Let Go and Offer Up. And last night, the other person showed up 30 minutes late. Oh the fun. This is my busy season and time is very precious.
I finally reached the guy for this morning and he stated that his wife ended up buying an air conditioner. He simply forgot to tell me or answer my texts or email. So rude.
Whether you are buying or selling an item, there is proper etiquette that goes along with it. Here are some tips for both the buy and seller to help facilitate a happy transaction:
1. Make sure the item is cleaned off and ready to go
2. Make sure you describe the item in completion and have the manual if possible
3. Set up a time for transfer of the item
1. If you change your mind, let the buy know immediately
2. Show up in a timely manner
3. Make sure you have the correct cash
If should be pretty simple. You are getting a gently used item for a deal. And the buyer is getting rid of something they aren’t using.
