In continuing with our series on National Simplify Your Life Week 2014, today we are focusing on the bathroom. Bathrooms can be challenging. Especially the lack of storage. Many times people attempt to fit everything in them -despite the lack of space. Doesn’t make for a fun morning time when you are trying to find the toothpaste!
Here are 3 ways to simplify your bathroom!
1. Evict The Expired! This room needs to be purged on a regular basis. You would be amazed at how much waste there is in the bathroom. Prescription drugs can safely be disposed of at your local police station.
2. Categorize and Containerize-With any organizing project, you want to categorize and containerize your items. If you have storage in your bathroom, use it. Put all your daily items in the medicine cabinet. Use the drawers for other items you use on a regular basis.
If you don’t have storage, like myself, use your linen closet for your products. I have categorized my items in stackable bins.
3. Overflow-We all have overflow when it comes to bathroom products. Who shops at Costco? Don’t try and shove all your stuff in that tiny space. Create an overflow area. This could be on one shelf of your linen closet, or in a basement storage area. Make sure your items are visible and labeled. This will prevent duplicate buying.
Keep your space clean and clear!!
