Trash to Cash

Yes I love Craigslist. Its amazing what people will buy. When I bought my condo last year, I was able to get rid of alot of items that I didnt need for the new place. As a general rule of thumb, most people expect to pay around 30 to 60% of cost of the items you are selling.  You might want to price them a little higher than what you want for them, so you have negotiating room.

As with any online site, safety is important. If someone creeps you out, dont offer to sell the item to them. Dont give them your address until a final arrangement is made. Only take cash,  as there have been fraud cases. If possible have the item outside or on a porch ready to go. I always made sure my neighbors were home when people came over to pick up items.

  • Nice suggestions and I am glad you warned people not to give out their address until necessary, taking cash only and making sure there is someone else with you when they come to pick up the items. It is not even good to trust people you think you know now.
