The Top 5 Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games

In the past three years, the Nintendo Switch has won gamers all over the world. The Switch’s portability had made it easy for gamers to easily switch from playing on the TV to bringing their Switch with them on the go.

The exclusives games are also a highlight, with Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons being some of the standouts. As the new year approaches, here are the top 5 upcoming Nintendo Switch Games.

New Pokémon Snap

Announced back in June of 2020, New Pokémon Snap is the anticipated sequel to the loved 1999 Nintendo 64 game, Pokémon Snap. In the game, players will travel to different locations such as jungles and beaches. Like the first game, the sequel’s gameplay will have an on-the-rails shooting mechanic where, as you move through the location, you use your camera to take pictures of Pokémon and build your “Photodex.”

The player can use apples to lure Pokémon to you, while a point system will determine the quality of your photos. To get more information on the game and other gaming related news, check out the best blog for gamers, GameLuster.

Bravely Default 2

If you are a fan of JRPGs, keep an eye on Bravely Default 2, the third game in the Square Enix developed Bravely series. The game is a turn-based RPG that features character and class customization and a special BRAVE and DEFAULT fighting system.

If you have not played the first game, there is no need to worry as Bravely Default 2 has a set of characters and a story unrelated to Bravely Default. If you are interested in this game, you can download a free demo on your Nintendo Switch from the Nintendo eShop. The game has a release date of February 26, 2021.

No More Heroes 3

The third mainline entry in the series, No More Heroes 3, is a hack and slash action-adventure video game. The game is set 10 years after No More Heroes 2, where you play as Travis Touchdown, a professional assassin who returns to Santa Destroy as he defends the world from an alien invasion led by a galactic overlord prince.

The first two games featured the player fighting against an eccentric cast of assassins, so expect this game to be just as weird, stylish, and over the top. The game was originally set to be released this year but has been moved to 2021.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is seen by many as one of the Switch’s best games, so the sequel is highly anticipated. Announced back in E3 2019, Breath of the Wild 2 is a direct follow-up to the first game.

While there have not been many released details about the game, series producer Eiji Aonuma has said that the sequel will expand the first game’s world with a new story and gameplay elements. Breath of the Wild 2 release date has not been announced yet but with the series’ 35th anniversary coming up in 2021, expect to see some major announcements soon.

Metroid Prime 4

The Metroid Prime series is a seminal series for Nintendo and beloved by fans worldwide so Metroid Prime 4 has high expectations to meet. Initially announced in E3 2017, the game has gone through a bit of a turbulent development cycle.

It was initially being developed by Bandai Namco, but development restarted in early 2019 and is now being made by Retro Studios, the original makers of the Prime series. The game currently has no release date but expect this to be one of the Switch’s most talked-about games.
