Tom Cruise Loves Motorcycles, and We Love Tom Cruise

As we eagerly await the release of Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, I invite you to take a ride with me to reflect on some of the unforgettable motorcycle moments in Tom Cruise’s illustrious film career.

No Tom Cruise movie is complete without him riding a motorcycle. Most of them hand selected by Cruise himself, who has been riding since he was 10 years old. Clearly, he has great taste in motorcycles. Perhaps one day we will get to take a peek at his personal collection. I’m pleased to say I have ridden all of the machines listed below with the exception of the Kawasaki.

Lets begin with one of the most iconic motorcycle scenes in movie history. In the 1986 film (and one of my personal favorites), Top Gun. Tom is aboard his co-star, a Kawasaki Ninja 900/ GPZ 900R. At the time it was the fastest production bike in the world.

Then in 2000 Mission: Impossible 2 featured a Triumph Daytona and a Triumph Speed Triple ridden by Cruise in an epic bike chase.

In the 2010 film Knight and Day Cruise hand selected the Ducati Hypermotard

In the 2013 film Oblivion, Cruise rides a futuristic motorcycle based on a Honda RCF450X platform which folds up for easy storage.

In the film Edge of Tomorrow Cruise’s character escapes the base to get his motorcycle fix in. His bike of choice, a Triumph Thruxton
