UPDATE: Pete Williams of NBC is reporting that Suspect Two is not Sunil Tripathi. AP is reporting that Suspect 2 is Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, 19, of Cambridge, Mass. Dead suspect one is his brother Tamerlan, 26, was a champion golden glove boxer. Stay tuned for more as this evolves. Police Confirm these are the Boston Marathon bombing suspects. Suspect 1 is dead. Suspect 2 (one with the white hat) is still on the run. The AP is reporting that the bombing suspects are Russian and have lived in US for over one year


Quick timeline: 10:22pm MIT police called as people report gunshots on campus after robbery at 7-Eleven.

10:30pm responding MIT police officer found shot  at Vasser and Main St in Cambridge, MA. Officer pronounced dead at Mass General.

Two armed young males commit a carjacking at a gas station on 3rd street in Cambridge. The stolen car was reported to be a black Mercedes SUV. Victim held at gun point. The two men keep him in the car for 30 minutes before letting him go unharmed.

Shortly after police chase the stolen vehicle into Watertown. The suspects throw explosives out the car window at the police. Gun shots are exchanged between suspects and police at Dexter and Laurel streets. NBTA police officer shot during exchange and brought to Mt Auburn Hospital. Suspect 1 from marathon pictures, identified via police scanner as Mike Mulugeta, is mortally wounded and pronounced dead at Beth Isreal Hospital. Suspect two, identified on the scanner as Sunil Tripathi, flees car remains on the run with a rifle in Watertown. If suspect two does end up being Sunil Tripathi it will mark the bizarre end to a missing person case that has drawn international attention. Craziest part is one is the missing Brown University student from last month.



The Boston Globe is reporting that one suspect in the marathon bombing has been taken into custody.

Another remains on the loose in Watertown, MA. Police have established a 20-block parameter around him according to the Boston Globe.



One MIT police officer has been killed. Suspects and police clash with explosives and guns in Watertown. There was also a carjacking in which gunshots and IEDs were thrown from the car.
