The Emmy Awards are on tonight. I watch a lot of movies, but not that much TV anymore. I used to love TV; I looked forward to the new season of television every fall. I couldn’t wait to read about when my favorite shows were back on and would be excited to pick out a few new ones to try. I would create a calendar, and make sure that I recorded the ones I would miss. Now I look forward to American Idol and Big Brother only, and I will watch a few other shows when I have time. I do read articles about the shows, so I do know what is trending, and I will even read spoilers about shows that I don’t even watch. I did start watching This Is Us last season because my mom watches it, and am looking forward to it next week. There are still great shows on TV, but I have lost my interest in watching each week. At the Emmy Awards tonight, the hosts, Michael Che and Colin Jost, made a joke that maybe TV can last another five years. Is that true or will TV make a comeback? Tonight is the 70th Emmy Show, and I am watching it. I may not know the winners or even some of the shows nominated, but I am going to watch because once upon a time, I loved TV.
