Daylight lasts longer during the summer so the sky is still bright into the late evening. There are festivals and other events inviting me to stay outside longer. The skies are blue with white clouds, and the air is fresh and warm. Even though I work full time, summer makes me think of vacations and of the carefree days of my youth. I remember playing tennis with my family, and going swimming with my friends. Summer brings back memories of riding bikes, going on picnics and taking walks with my three daughters. It reminds me of how quickly time passes by. Here are three things I want to do this summer:
- Go to a beach and watch a sunset or a sunrise over the water
- Walk or hike in nature and really see the beauty all around me
- Experience a festival with live music and art and be present in the world outside
William Carlos Williams, an American Poet said, “In the summer, the song sings itself.” I want to hear the song of summer, and get lost in these summer days. What are your summer goals?
