I saw A Wrinkle in Time in the theater, but since it also just came out in DVD, I watched it again. I did love the book even more than the movie, but I was excited to watch the movie again. Here is my review of the movie with no spoilers.
Favorite line or message of movie: Too many to list them all. I love the message of accepting yourself completely, faults in all. Mrs. Which said to Meg, “Do you realize how many events, choices, that had to occur since the birth of the universe leading up to the making of you? Just exactly the way you are.”
Did the storyline hold my attention? Yes, because the sets and costumes were amazing to see. The cast was wonderful as well so it was easy to stay engaged in the story.
Could I understand what was happening? Yes, although I did read the book so I think that made it much easier to understand some of the details that I might have missed or not fully grasped without that information.
Did I care about at least 1 character? I loved the parents as well as the rest of the characters. It was great to see a partnership of equal intellect developing this tesseract or the wrinkle in time.
Did I think about or talk about the movie when it was over? I did see this movie in the theater, but also just rented it on DVD. There are so many different things to talk about from the idea of traveling in time to the transformation of the main character, Meg, to the overall visual experience this movie offers.
Would I see this movie a second time? Yes, I have watched it twice including all the extra bonus features on DVD.
