Riding Waves is a story of hope; a glimpse at how life can bring people down, but how we all can chose to be strong. I wrote this book from a very deep and personal place, and want other to know that we can overcome the darkness that sometimes enters our lives. Like musicians who stream their music for free, I too was overwhelmed with the feeling that I should share my words for free to all who are interested…
Harper Johnson is a teenage girl learning to navigate the joys as well as the trials of growing up, falling in love and going to college. It appears that Harper’s life is heading in the direction of her dreams as she graduates from high school and begins to date her best friend’s charismatic older brother, Dan. As she struggles to balance her own needs with the demands of being in a relationship, she loses her best friend and is in danger of losing herself. She has some hard decisions to make when her choices lead her only to confusion and pain. She must decide which waves in her life will take her to shore and towards her dreams, and which ones might take her under and cause her only pain?
All through my day, no matter where I go, or what I do, I am always looking for the good. I try to find the good in people, in the world, in my life or even just in my day.
