Dear President Trump,
It is with great hope that I welcome you to the White House and to the presidency.
Although we don’t agree in many respects, one area that I am sure that we can agree on is that we love the United States of America. We both want a strong and prosperous nation for the people. Keep that always in the forefront of your thoughts.
There are many issues that you may feel you already understand, but I know that there is much more to be learned. I am a different person than I was eight years ago when I was sworn into office, and I believe this change is for the better. My desire is that your time in the White House also enables you to grow as I have.
In the spirit of loving our country, I will urge all Americans to come together and not let our country become even more divided. We must find avenues to bring the people together and guide them to accept and understand our differences.
Just like the purpose of raising our children is to teach them how to work together, problem solve with words, respect one’s self and others, express emotions in acceptable means and to make decisions ethically and intelligently, we must elevate our country to do the same as individuals and as a nation.
Changes in our world begin with us, so I urge you to be that example and lead with love and acceptance.
All through my day, no matter where I go, or what I do, I am always looking for the good. I try to find the good in people, in the world, in my life or even just in my day.
