6 Positive Aspects of Frigid Weather

If every day of our Chicago winter featured temperatures in the 70’s and heavy sunshine we’d still complain.

We’d complain that we didn’t have a real winter, that we never had a significant snowfall,  never had an excuse to make chili while wearing our favorite wool socks, or we’d complain that weren’t able to use our flannel sheets we just spent a lot of money on.

In the summer we whine that it’s too hot, in the winter we moan that it’s too cold and in the Autumn, we gripe that isn’t as scenically Autumnal as we envisioned.

It’s important for us to realize that the alternative  to us complaining about the cold weather is NOT us praising glorious weather, it’s us complaining about something else. So let’s just cope with it.

Here are 5 things to help you cope.

  • Coughing lightning -- I love that! I always dread winter static because my dog and I are constantly shocking each other and I'm afraid she'll hate me by spring. But coughing lightning -- that makes it all worth it. (No salad, right? Either that or I just refuse to wash the lettuce. No contact with cold water between now and April if I can help it.)

I'm glad us TRs think alike! Thanks for reading.

  • You were at my bus stop? I'll have Kleenex tomorrow. (I write comments like this strictly to amuse myself.)

  • In reply to Kathy Mathews:

I hope you don't mind that they amuse me as well, Kathy
