My favorite line of Woody Allen’s amicable breakup movie, Annie Hall, is his narration at the end that begins like this:
Alvy Singer: [narrating] After that it got pretty late, and we both had to go, but it was great seeing Annie again. I… I realized what a terrific person she was, and… and how much fun it was just knowing her.
I’ve ridden a lot of roller coasters in my lifetime and once they end and everyone is unlocking their seat harnesses, you never hear anyone say, “GOD DAMNIT What jerk stopped the ride? Now that we’ve stopped, the entire experience of that ride was completely ruined!”.
Instead of complaining, all the riders are too busy smiling and cheering and telling their friends about their favorite part of the ride and how they can’t wait to ride again.
Amicable break ups are tough, but here are 6 songs to remind you that you aren’t the only person in the history of mankind to endure one.
