I remember 1981 like it was yesterday–Prince Charles and Diana Spencer’s Press Conference was supposed to be the stuff a 14 year-old girls’ dreams were made of. I somehow felt sorry for Diana–in my humble teenage opinion, I found Prince Charles kind of dopey. If nothing else the day taught me about compromise. Seems that poor teenage girl gave up quite a bit when you consider what she got.
I remember staying up all night to watch their wedding on live tv and waited with great anticipation for the arrival of the heir and the spare. In 1998 I remember staying up all night again to hear of Diana’s death–and again a week later to watch her funeral. For some strange reason I was drawn to anything royal–the family Windsor is like a potato chip–I just can’t stop at one bite.
I was so excited to hear of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s upcoming wedding–and until today, thought I knew all the details–Westminster Abbey–April 29, 2011–groom-to-be gave bride-to-be his mother’s engagement ring–they met nine or ten years ago depending on what station you listen to–and they’ve broken up at least twice since officially hooking up.
Today, Radar On-line posted some tidbits I did not know–I thought I’d share them with you–so we’ll all be up to speed and on the same page.
