Non Toxic Product of the Month: The Honest Company Sea Salt + Sugar Body Scrub
Body scrubs, especially sugar or salt scrubs, are a fantastic way to soften skin/add moisture. As you’ve seen with previous non-toxic product posts I discuss a product I frequently used prior to giving a shit about the ingredients. My scrub of choice was any Sabon body scrub. I often received them as a gift and... Read more »

Non-Toxic Product of the Month: Dr. Bronner's Organic Shaving Gel (Spearmint/Peppermint)

Non-Toxic Product of the Month: Dr. Bronner's Organic Shaving Gel (Spearmint/Peppermint)
Per Mercola.com our bodies absorb five pounds of cosmetic chemicals each year. For the majority of my life I put zero thought into the ingredients of my beauty products. When I started educating myself re: ingredients, it was incredibly disturbing. Shaving gels are the WORST and my body is constantly exposed through daily shaving. I... Read more »

Mealtime: Recommended Products for Babies/Toddlers

Baby Bottle--Comotomo, Green, 8 Ounces:
We love these silicone baby bottles! The nipple design is very conducive to transitioning from breastfeeding. They are equipped with anti-colic vents which help Nate suck less air during a feeding & prevents excessive gas. They are safe for dishwasher, boiling water, & microwave (that’s a moo point since you should never put a baby bottle in the microwave). Best of all, the lids have tiny holes so when you put them in the dishwasher they don't fill with water/sediment & spill all over when you open it.
As your baby grows a bottle no longer constitutes mealtime. You start expanding the little one’s repertoire of food. It’s an exciting time but equally stressful & messy! Having the right bowl can prevent a massive mess on the dining room floor. Similarly the right bib can prevent turmoil to your baby’s clothes & high... Read more »

Underestimated Baby Items That Proved Most Important

The Drying Rack--relentless cycles of crap needing a wash/air-dry cycle on any given day require a drying rack with a huge max capacity. My pick: Boon Lawn Drying Rack & accessories
I’ll restrain myself from throwing another New Baby Must-Have List into the virtual world, if you google that phrase thousands of little blog posts will appear. It’s widely understood that products such as car seats or a trusted diaper brand deserve care and attention but sometimes the little everyday items make a big difference. Here’s... Read more »

Brief Insights for New Parents: Go-to Baby Product Resources

Brief Insights for New Parents: Go-to Baby Product Resources
My first trip to a Buy Buy Baby after a positive pregnancy test was an exhilarating and terrifying experience. Not only were there 300 varies of a pacifier but I had no idea what half the shit was (a nipple shield? WTF is that?) making me feel unqualified to birth a child. Picking out a... Read more »

Does Your Home Have Walls or Stuff Inside? Then It’s Toxic

Does Your Home Have Walls or Stuff Inside? Then It’s Toxic
Once my son was born I jumped on the war on toxins bandwagon since having a baby around takes the fun out of cleaning with carcinogens. Last Saturday I became swept up in a couple mom blogs seemingly authoritative on the subject of toxin free homes. Suddenly, I found myself mid-panic attack clutching a garbage... Read more »

Six Ridiculous Baby Purchases I’ve Made (Thus Far)

When it comes to baby products, one thing I’ve learned is you don’t know what’s a waste until you’ve had the baby. You get everything on the must-have list, half of the stuff you won’t use, another quarter of it won’t work for your baby. Many people advised me on what to purchase or what... Read more »
