October 7 LEARN THE PROCESS OF WOOD APPLIQUE
AND CREATE YOUR OWN UNIQUE WOOD HANGING!
10:00 AM – 3:00 PM with a break for lunch Cost: $55.00
Ages 16 – Adult – Beginners welcome! – All materials supplied. (Please bring a bag lunch.)
Deadline for payment/registration: Sep. 30
Join LOLA teacher and Artistree Gallery member, and master wood worker, Wayne Walma for this class in fine wood working.  Students will explore the use of small pegs to “applique” wood to wood for the purpose of creating designs or images.  Each student will create one (or more, if time) unique wood hanging of their own design.  Wayne will go over all the steps involved for the project. Students will make several practice appliqués, 
then design and implement their own project.

Sounds exciting! Learn the interesting art of flame-worked glass beads with instructor,
Julie Lukosaitis of Madison, WI.
All materials supplied. No experience necessary. This is a beginners class, but if there are those with experience, Julie will work with you on new techniques.
Meet glass artist Julie Lukosaitis, who is owner of Bedazzled by Julz, LLC.  
Bedazzzled by Julz is a mobile torch studio that travels to other art studios in Wisconsin.  “Glass in the flame, transitioning from a solid to a liquid, working against gravity, while reading the heat in the glass, can be challenging but is extremely fun!” Julie Lukosaitis.
Step by step, Julie will lead the class through the creative process with discussions, provide handouts and visual demonstrations. Students will learn about the equipment used, safety and be able to participate in the exciting process of forming glass beads.

October 12 Non-Fiction Book Club at 10:30 a.m.
We’ll be discussing “When Books Went to War: 
The Stories That Helped Us Win World War II” by Molly Guptill Manning
October 19 Movie Day at 1:00 p.m.
We will be showing “The Meddler” starring Susan Sarandon and Rose Byrne. 
A recent widow (Susan Sarandon) crosses coasts to be closer to her daughter (Rose Byrne) 
and meddles in the lives of those around her. Popcorn and movie are offered at no cost.

The North Woods Art Tour
10 AM – 5 PM each day
This semi-annual event showcases 33 artists in
nearly every north woods community. Boulder Junction, Manitowish Waters, Mercer, Woodruff, Minocqua Eagle River and of course we have two outstanding artists on the tour right here in Land O’ Lakes.
We have Pamela Johnson Howe, a potter on Moccasin Lake. Her passion is to make beautiful items that also functionl she creates stoneware and pottery that are breathtaking! Her address is 6055 Mockesair Lane. Drive on County Road S, about a mile south of County B, to Moccasin Lake Road. Turn Left on Moccasin Lake Road, bear right in about a 1/2 mile, to the 6055 Fire Number.
Another Land O’ Lakes artist is Blossoms Studio, owned by Sue Schurch. Her specialty is furniture and decor items. She wood burns and paints on the items. Her work is beautiful and captures the charm of her north woods life style and studio.
Her address is 6089 Lilly Lake Trail.
From County B turn south on Boygan Lake Road, drive about a quarter mile south of B to Lilly Trail Road. Turn right on Lily Lake Trail and the driveway is the first one on the left.
Boygan Lake Road is about three quarters of a mile east
of the Forest Lake Country Store!

CELEBRATE THE COLORS
AND CRANBERRIES IN MANTIOWISH WATERS
Come and get your anything and everything cranberry! 
Manitowish Waters Chamber of Commerce presents its annual
CRAN A RAMA, at the Community Center in Manitowish Waters. 
The annual fall cranberry event features the 19th Annual Cranberry Cooking Contest, Arts & Crafts booths, free cranberry samples, free cranberry marsh shuttle bus tours to the Vilas Cranberry Company (compliments of the Manitowish Waters Chamber & Cranberry Growers Association),
fresh cranberry sales. 
There will also be raffles available, cranberry industry video viewing and educational display, Lioness bake sale (while the goodies last), pontoon cruises on the Manitowish Waters chain of lakes (sponsored by the Manitowish Waters Lakes Association, weather permitting) and self-guided fall color excursions 
(maps and suggested tour routes available at the Chamber for those who wish to view the spectacular fall colors along country roads and highways). 
Whether you are looking for just a couple of samples or wanting to learn everything about cranberries, CRAN-A-RAMA will be the place to be. Don’t miss out on the event’s main concessions which features several of the 
area’s fantastic restaurants in the “Taste of Harvest” from 11 am – 2 pm.

Recently we were flattered to be included in a Wisconsin Department of Tourism release showcasing ten unique north woods fish frys. We were in great company.
We serve pan-fried walleye, home made potato pancakes and rye bread with our Country Store cole slaw!
We serve this EVERY Friday 4:30 – 7:30 PM
Take – N – Bake Pizza
This is growing,,, FAST!!!
We roll and par-bake your crust. We build the pizza the way you need it, you pick it up and take it home and bake it off whenever you want to eat.
Think about a house full of family and friends, skiing, fishing, chasing frogs or whatever. Or in the winter a bunch that went sledding and others that were shopping and still others out ice fishing!
Feed them late without loading up the car or caravan!
Take – N – bake Pizza gives you a great dinner option without any fuss. You can freeze these and take them elsewhere for a fix of Country Store pizza at a later date!
We start building these at 11:30 AM every day we are open!

Bret & Frisk and Spaghetti Night!
October 16th
Feed starts at 5 PM, Music at 6 PM.
Salad, followed by Spaghetti with meat sauce and a
slab of garlic bread. Then, of course, dessert.
After dining and clearing the tables, We will be treated
to Bret and Frisk for an hour and a half of music.
Seating is limited to just 30 people. Cost is $20 per person, advance registration is required. Stop at the Country Store or call with your credit card info for reservations.
October 24th Wine Tasting

Joint Effort with Chef Lanny!
Nina Martin from Badger Liquor will work with Travis from Jackson Family Wines. Wines in their portfolio include Kendall-Jackson, Cambria, Siduri, Ed Meades, Freemark Abbey, Matansas Creek, well you get the idea. So many great wines, it will be an event!
We will usually serve 7 different wines. Each wine will be accompanied by a taste sample of something from Chef Lanny’s new restaurant in Eagle River! Lanny and Max now have a second location, “The Grill at the Inn” at the Eagle River Inn. We will have an opportunity to sample some of the new menu items with each wine!
Cost is $28 per person, and includes all food and wine.
Seating is limited and advance registration is required.
