FREE Contest, win over $1000 in prizes

As many of you may know, I am the producer and host of the Illinois Outdoors TV show.  I’m also co-host of the Fishing and Outdoor Radio show.

Back in Septemeber, my co-host partner Jim DaRosa and I were at Kentucky Lake for an Association of Great Lakes Outdoor Writers annual conference.  One of our corporate members, Blue Heron Communications was there.  They represent Berkley, Spider Wire, and host of other companies including Abu Garcia the makers of fine fishing rods and reels.

From Blue Heron, Kevin Jarnagin  was there showing the latest Abu Garcia products.  All of a sudden, while the three of us were talking one day we came up with the idea of running a contest on TV and Radio.

The contest is free and all one has to do is say the name of their newest rod, FANTASISTA.  It’s really not that hard but can be a tongue twister.  Kevin thought it would be great to have viewers and listeners take a moment and send in a 5  to 10 second video of them saying the rod name, FANTASISTA.   Actually, he’s looking for something a little light hearted, funny, a little crazy.

The folks at Abu Garcia will pick the best video and the winner will be awarded with a FANTASISTA rod valued at $499.00.

During a radio interview when we kicked off the contest Kevin got even more excited and decided to throw in an Abu Garcia Revo MGX reel.  It’s valued at $350.00.  And by the time we ended the radio interview, he said he’d throw in some other great products to top off the prize making this free contest one where you can win over $1000.00 in prizes.  And all it will take is for you to grab your cell phone and send us a video of yourself saying FANTASISTA.    Add to that some humor, something crazy and you may win.  Again, be creative.

Complete details can be seen on the CONTEST link at or

Contest ends November 30 so don’t drag your feet on this one.  It’s FREE and depending on how creative you can be in 5 to 10 seconds can bring you one of the best rod and reel combinations on the market today.

Watch the video hear for details and the email that you’ll send your video to.
