Family Fun 4th of July Vacation idea that's good for all summer long

Family fun fishing vacations are great but there are times when you can enjoy quality time with the family and get up close and personal with nature.  Do that by hopping on your bicycles and taking a ride on one of the miles of trails in Boulder Junction Wisconsin.  And if you’re plans are to be there during the 4th of July Holiday week, there’s even more to do.

Boulder Junction’s extensive bicycling opportunities are the focus of this year’s 4th of July parade, themed “Red, Bike and Blue.” Boulder Junction is a great place to bicycle, offering an excellent variety of opportunities. Paved trails, mountain bike trails and quiet roadways combine to create an incredible bicycling destination. Boulder Junction’s most popular bicycling opportunity is a set of paved trails that make up the 27 mile Heart of Vilas County Bike & Hike Trail System. Re-discover a classic Independence Day with the Boulder Junction Chamber of Commerce, residents, businesses and service organizations, for this year’s Star Spangled Jubilee Fourth of July Celebration on Wednesday, July 4th.

The festivities start at 12noon on Main Street with the American Legion Post 451 gun salute at the Veterans Memorial Triangle.  We will kick off the parade, by leading the crowd in the singing of the Star Spangled Banner.  The parade will begin at the Veterans’ Memorial Triangle, continue down Main Street, and end at St. Anne’s Catholic Church.  1st, 2nd and 3rd place floats will be awarded plaques sponsored by Achilles Foot & Ankle Clinic.

A dazzling fireworks show, sponsored by the Town of Boulder Junction, will be displayed at dusk at the Boulder Junction Airport.  But don’t wait until the fireworks start to make your way to the airport. At 6:30pm pre-fireworks activities, including grilled hot dogs and hamburgers, sodas and music, will begin. From 8pm to 9pm, Barb Boston will host an interactive dance party. Come early, get a great parking spot, and enjoy some tailgating!  See you on the 4th!
