That great American institution known as denim jeans was celebrated in a loud and proud fashion event on Tues. night (April 24th) at the Michigan Ave. Guess jeans store .
Lines and designs of stylish, curvy, form-fitting jeans were created by the Marciano bros. almost 30 years ago and slowly developed into a sort of denim status symbol throughout the 1980’s ….
Made popular by the curvaceous Claudia Schiffer, the hip- hugging apparel started out with a small following and became quite popular over the years.
The ambiance in the store was festive with mouth- watering hors d’ oeuvres and ice cold cocktails as fans of the famous clothes flowed into the shop to be a part of this special anniversary event. Marie Claire stylists were on hand to provide expert insight and tips, while “Save the Children” benefited by receiving 10% of all store sales.
A lively DJ providing party music added to the unique atmosphere as appealing models strolled the main floor of the store, sporting envious styles and slim waistlines.
Guess jeans special anniversary “Capsule Collection” was revealed for one and all to see. Premiering in stores on Wed., April 25th, this refreshing new line of clothes includes white “Cigarette” jeans printed with bright yellow flowers and gingham tops with ties at the waist.
If these brilliant new designs are a sign of things to come, then the Marciano bros. have nothing to worry about for the next 30 years ….
