Seth Godin is my man. In 2014, I declared that Seth Godin will marry me. Last year, I actually met Seth Godin randomly when I was walking home after a workout, and I was so excited that I could barely speak.
I can always count on Seth Godin, especially with his blog because he posts daily. Every. Single. Day. Whether it’s a long post full of paragraphs of wisdom or just a few sentences that inspire you the rest of the day, this guy posts. With his 7,000th post today, he has now written more than 2.7 million words, which he points out is more than 30 books. Thirty books!
Imagine if you committed to doing something everyday? What does it look like? One thing, large or small, could contribute to gaining confidence to do something you’ve always wanted to do. And it could definitely help you learn how to market yourself so you can lock down a few more first dates. A simple smile when you’re on the el. Say hello to the cute guy/girl in line at the grocery store. Go to an event by yourself.
Seth Godin makes it happen, but sometimes we need help. We need someone holding us accountable. We set a goal, and we need someone there to help us achieve it. I mean, I have a gym membership and I know exactly what I need to do in order to get in shape, and yet, when I hire a personal trainer, I always see results way faster because they hold me accountable every single day.
I encourage you to commit to one thing everyday that helps you sell yourself. If you need help, find a friend who will support you, and maybe even join in with you. If you need my help, drop me an email or tag me on Twitter. Let’s all commit to getting one day better. What tips do you have for setting and obtaining goals? Comment below.
