Classic albums from 1971 are now fifty years old. Are you still listening to them?

Pearl was Janis Joplin's final album. It was released months after her death.
1971 was a great year in the genre of classic rock. We still had artists from the British Invasion era making music, while at the same time we witnessed the start of the singer-songwriter era. There was a lot of something for everyone. The albums from that year will reach the fifty-year mark in 2021.... Read more »

"Who" by The Who: All this music will not fade
I don’t care I know you’re gonna hate this song And that’s fair We never really got along Back in the 1960’s, Pete Townshend wrote the famous words “I hope I die before I get old.” He didn’t mean it literally. Townshend meant that he hoped he would continue to evolve as he grew older.... Read more »

Richie Havens opened the concert. "Freedom"
When you think about Woodstock, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? It should be the music. There has never been an event where so many legendary artists performed. Thirty-three acts played over the three-plus days. The performances were relatively short; most ranging from forty-five minutes to one hour. The two exceptions were Jefferson Airplane and... It's been obvious for decades that Donald Trump is the "American Idiot" (Green Day)
Happy Independence Day eve. Tomorrow, Donald Trump is throwing himself and his followers a little party. He’s going to have a parade, military-dictatorship style. Trump is enamored of those parades his heroes throw. Tanks rolling down the street. Soldiers marching and paying honor to their leader. He’s always wanted one of those to honor him.... Read more »

Twenty musicians who suffer from hearing loss

Three of the four members of The Who have had hearing issues and the only reason the fourth, Keith Moon, didn't is because he died forty years ago. Pete Townshend is almost deaf. John Entwistle became a lip reader to overcome his hearing loss. Roger Daltrey is now the musical voice of safety when playing/listening to music
Yesterday, I wrote about hearing problems due to listening to loud music. Today’s followup is a look at musicians who have these same problems. While these musicians are mostly loud rockers, there are some surprises. Here’s a gallery of musicians with ear issues:   Related Post: Do you use ear protection at concerts? Type your... Read more »

  • Meet The Blogger

    Howard Moore

My so called friends think it's time to edit this section. After four years, they may be right, but don't tell them that. I'll deny it until they die! I can't believe I've been writing this blog for four years. It started as a health/wellness thing and over the years has morphed to include so many things that I don't know how to describe it anymore. I really thought this was going to be the final year of the blog but then Donald Trump came along. It looks like we're good for four more years..God help us all! Oh yeah...the biographical stuff. I'm not 60 anymore. The rest you can read about in the blog.
