After fifty years, I'm still looking for the meaning of "The Low Spark of High-Heeled Boys"

A few years ago, I was having a discussion about the Traffic album, “The Low Spark of High-Heeled Boys.” The person I was talking with claimed it was the best album of the 1970s decade. Although I loved the band and the album, I was more than a little skeptical. I did the research to... Read more »

It was quite an night in Georgia (Spencer Davis/Steve Winwood)
It was quite a night in Georgia. Democrats won both seats in run-off races and with that, they will control the Senate. It’s hard to explain exactly what and why it happened. Maybe it’s easier to explain it all in songs? Type your email address in the box and click the “create subscription” button. My... Read more »

Steve Winwood and Joan Jett join Michael J. Fox to fight Parkinson's Disease

Steve Winwood and Joan Jett join Michael J. Fox to fight Parkinson's Disease
When you think of Michael J. Fox, what first comes to mind? Is it Alex P. Keaton from “Family Ties?” Marty McFly from “Back to the Future?” Maybe his characters from “Teen Wolf”, “Spin City” or “The Good Wife?” I think his legacy will be the work that he’s doing in the fight against Parkinson’s... Labor Day is the end of the Summer concert season

<iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/6P7347uuFec" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Steve Winwood opened the Summer season. He was the opening act for Steely Dan. I'm not a big fan of his band but his voice was better than it was a year ago. Winwood is still a legendary performer.
Happy Labor Day! Most people consider Labor Day the end of summer. Oh man, is winter right around the corner? It does signal the end of the Summer Concert Season. There are a couple more events but for the most part, concerts will move indoors. It was a very busy Summer of music. While most... Read more »

Steve Winwood In Concert: The Oldies Are Comforting

Steve Winwood In Concert: The Oldies Are Comforting
Steve Winwood is one of my musical heroes. For me, after the Beatles, it’s Winwood and Eric Clapton. If that was all the music I could ever listen to, I’d be okay with just those three. I’ve been listening to Winwood for close to 50 years. It started in 1966, with Gimme Some Lovin and... Read more »

    Howard Moore

My so called friends think it's time to edit this section. After four years, they may be right, but don't tell them that. I'll deny it until they die! I can't believe I've been writing this blog for four years. It started as a health/wellness thing and over the years has morphed to include so many things that I don't know how to describe it anymore. I really thought this was going to be the final year of the blog but then Donald Trump came along. It looks like we're good for four more years..God help us all! Oh yeah...the biographical stuff. I'm not 60 anymore. The rest you can read about in the blog.
