Let's start with Neil Young's "Lookin' For A Leader 2020"
Yesterday, I came across a reworked version of Neil Young’s “Looking For A Leader.” He changed some of the words to make them relevant for 2020. I started thinking about if there are other songs about Donald Trump. Hmmm….man, there sure are. Instead of using older, worn-out classic rock tunes, Joe Biden should use some... Read more »

Neil Young "Homegrown": Four decades later, the music is timeless
It’s 1974. Neil Young is looking to release a new album. He has enough new music to fill two albums, but isn’t sure which record should be next. He gathers some musician friends for a listening session in a bungalow at the Chateau Marmont hotel in Hollywood. The album that won the night was “Tonight’s... Read more »

There are days you need to turn off the news, shut down your brain and crank up the music!

There are days you need to turn off the news, shut down your brain and crank up the music!
There’s colors on the street Red, white and blue People shufflin’ their feet People sleepin’ in their shoes But there’s a warnin’ sign on the road ahead There’s a lot of people sayin’ we’d be better off dead Don’t feel like Satan, but I am to them So I try to forget it, any way... Read more »

Neil Young is rocking in the free world as a United States citizen.

Neil Young is rocking in the free world as a United States citizen.
Neil Young dislikes the politics the current President of the United States. He wants to do something to change that. Young decided to become a U.S. citizen so he could vote against Donald Trump. Although he was born in Canada and remains a Canadian citizen, it makes sense that he should also be a United... Read more »

Hobbies of musicians

Here's Rod Stewart looking at his model train city.
Earlier this week, there was a story and photos of rock musician Rod Stewart and his model railroad city. It took him twenty-three years to compete the project. After seeing this, it made me curious about other musicians and their hobbies. Some of them have normal interests like the rest of us, others are a... Read more »

The year is 1969. Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young: Five decades of fighting

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young: Five decades of fighting
“The only thing counts is whether you’ve got any fucking friends. All the rest of it is bullshit.”-David Crosby It’s Thanksgiving. Mom is fighting with Dad. Siblings are arguing. Even your Grandparents are going at it. Constant bickering. Some of the grievances are real. Some imagined. It doesn’t matter. The fighting never stops.  Then we... Read more »

The week in review: shooting, lies, chicken and overtime

We start with the shooting at the Chabad of Poway synagogue. One died with three others injured. The first reaction, which included one from our President, is "it looks like it may be a hate crime." Umm...let's see...Jews shot, in a house of worship, on the final day of Passover...thinking my first reaction would be more than "may be." Idiot! I'm surprised he didn't break out the "good people on both sides" line. Idiot!
It was a very eclectic week in the news. Shootings, politics and sports took the lead. Let’s take a look: Type your email address in the box and click the “create subscription” button. My list is completely spam free, and you can opt out at any time.

Twenty musicians who suffer from hearing loss

Three of the four members of The Who have had hearing issues and the only reason the fourth, Keith Moon, didn't is because he died forty years ago. Pete Townshend is almost deaf. John Entwistle became a lip reader to overcome his hearing loss. Roger Daltrey is now the musical voice of safety when playing/listening to music
Yesterday, I wrote about hearing problems due to listening to loud music. Today’s followup is a look at musicians who have these same problems. While these musicians are mostly loud rockers, there are some surprises. Here’s a gallery of musicians with ear issues:   Related Post: Do you use ear protection at concerts? Type your... Read more »

    Howard Moore

My so called friends think it's time to edit this section. After four years, they may be right, but don't tell them that. I'll deny it until they die! I can't believe I've been writing this blog for four years. It started as a health/wellness thing and over the years has morphed to include so many things that I don't know how to describe it anymore. I really thought this was going to be the final year of the blog but then Donald Trump came along. It looks like we're good for four more years..God help us all! Oh yeah...the biographical stuff. I'm not 60 anymore. The rest you can read about in the blog.
