The Rachel Maddow Show: One night a week is better than nothing

Monday, September 8, 2008. That was the night The Rachel Maddow Show premiered on MSNBC. Almost fourteen years; more than 1,500 episodes. That’s a lot of television. Beginning last Monday, Rachel won’t be doing nearly as much television as she has done for the previous fourteen years. Not even close. When her latest contract came... Read more »

Rick Wilson was lucky his skin cancer showed up on high def television
If you’re a viewer of MSNBC, you’re probably familiar with the man in the above photo. That’s Rick Wilson. He’s a Republican strategist, media consultant and author. He’s also a harsh critic of Donald Trump…and that’s an understatement. Wilson wrote the book “Everything Trump Touches Dies.” His second book, dissing Trump and Democrats, is due... Read more »

Taking a break from the news has made me mentally heathier
Following politics in the United States of America is a full time job. It’s also very stressful. Every day there is some sort of Breaking News event. The stress doubles…triples…whatever when you are obsessive in your need to know every single thing, every single day. I was an MSNBC junkie. That obsession started during the... Read more »

Decisions you shouldn't make under the influence of drugs

These are Norco's. Doctors don't like to give them out anymore because they're pretty addictive. I have a bunch of them and am suppose to take 1-2 every 4-6 hours AS NEEDED. Yesterday I actually wondered that if two makes me feel pretty good, two more couldn't hurt? YIKES!
So I had a little surgery the other day. Nothing major but it’s been pretty painful since Monday. The doctors tell you that you shouldn’t be making any major decisions after having surgery but they never mention you probably shouldn’t be making decisions while taking pain killers. Man, we could have solved some problems if... Read more »

Every five years or so I decide to update this section. I can't believe I've been doing this for close to ten years. The last time I did this I was close to sixty years old. Now I'm just a few months away from the big 7-ZERO. Scary AF!!! I'm pretty sure I won't be doing an update when I hit 80, but you never know. But until then, lets just be grateful.
