Happy Birthday George Harrison: His Life In Pictures And Songs

Young George
Today would be George Harrison’s 72nd birthday. He died fourteen years ago and is still missed. I often wonder what George would be doing if he was still with us. I doubt he would be touring like Paul McCartney or Ringo Starr. He might be doing the occasional charity or tribute gig. He’d probably be... Read more »

Goodbye to 2014 in Blogo-land

This is my final effort for the year. So as the late, great Craig Ferguson Show would say….What have we learned in the last year, Howie? 1. I’ve done 11 pieces on death. ELEVEN!! I must be obsessed or trying to find some hidden meaning? But people like this crap….sorta.  Great Songs about Death is one... Read more »

10. McCartney-Paul's first solo album. He played all the instruments. A little uneven but a few excellent songs including Maybe I'm Amazed.
A friend recommended that I do a piece rating the Beatles albums…worst to best. That’s been done many times. But how about the best post-Beatles albums by The Fab Four? Here’s my Top 10. As always, suggestions, comments, criticisms are welcome.

George Harrison should be celebrating his 71st birthday today. A victim of Lung Cancer. A victim of cigarettes. Nobody knows how to throw themselves a party like the record industry. On October 16, 1992, Columbia Records threw a big one in New York City. My so called friends think it's time to edit this section. After four years, they may be right, but don't tell them that. I'll deny it until they die! I can't believe I've been writing this blog for four years. It started as a health/wellness thing and over the years has morphed to include so many things that I don't know how to describe it anymore. I really thought this was going to be the final year of the blog but then Donald Trump came along. It looks like we're good for four more years..God help us all! Oh yeah...the biographical stuff. I'm not 60 anymore. The rest you can read about in the blog.
