After sixty years of fandom, I'm done with the Chicago Blackhawks

April 16, 1961. On that date, the Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Detroit Red Wings by a score of 6-1. The win gave the Hawks their third Stanley Cup championship in team history. At that time, I was eight years old and this was the first hockey game I remember watching. The memories of that night... Read more »

Remembrances of Stan Mikita

Remembrances of Stan Mikita
The heroes you make when you are young are the best. They get you interested in an activity that you’ll love throughout your life. It could be sports, music, politics, art, entertainment or whatever; you’ll always remember fondly the ones you idolized when you were a child. I first found hockey in 1961. I was... Read more »

Chicago Blackhawks vs Buddy Guy

This is Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane. They're holding the Stanley Cup. They've already won two of those things and are going for number three.
It’s a big weekend in Chicago. Lots of things to do. Lots of choices to make. Summer in Chicago is why we live here. It’s why we put up with winter. My favorite music event is happening now. It’s time for the annual Blues Fest in Grant Park. This years headliner is legendary guitarist Buddy... Read more »

Corey Crawford said Fuck

Corey Crawford said Fuck
There was a shocking moment at the Chicago Blackhawk championship celebration yesterday. Their Goalie Corey Crawford dropped a couple of  ‘F-bombs’. My Dinner With Yvon

Just because you have an illness like Parkinson’s doesn’t mean that that’s all you focus upon. Not even close.  Like everyone else, I watch tv/movies, listen to lots of music, watch sports…you know…all the normal things most people like to do. So this story has nothing to do with Parkinson’s, except for the fact... Read more »

    Howard Moore

My so called friends think it's time to edit this section. After four years, they may be right, but don't tell them that. I'll deny it until they die! I can't believe I've been writing this blog for four years. It started as a health/wellness thing and over the years has morphed to include so many things that I don't know how to describe it anymore. I really thought this was going to be the final year of the blog but then Donald Trump came along. It looks like we're good for four more years..God help us all! Oh yeah...the biographical stuff. I'm not 60 anymore. The rest you can read about in the blog.
