Is there anything more rude than manspreading on public transportation during rush hour?

If you ride public transportation, you know all about manspreading. For those of you who don’t, it’s when a man or a woman takes a seat on a bus or train and takes up more than their allotted space. Usually it’s done by spreading out his/her legs. But there’s other forms of manspreading that are just as rude and obnoxious.

Last night, I was on a Metra train from the city to the north burbs. It was at the start of rush hour. It wasn’t surprising that the train was full of passengers, especially since the train was an express, with limited stops. I get on the train, look around and one seat is available….sorta. There’s a briefcase on it.

Are you kidding me?!?!

Seriously, you have to know that this is rude and unacceptable train behavior, right?

Usually, I would ask him nicely to move his briefcase…okay, sometimes not so nicely, but I knew that the next stop was coming up soon and the train would be emptying out. There was no need to cause a scene.

So here’s a little advice, think about how you would feel if this bad train/bus behavior was affecting you. Just show some basic courtesy toward your fellow passengers. It’s that simple.

Here’s a look at what bad PubTrans behavior looks like:

My so called friends think it's time to edit this section. After four years, they may be right, but don't tell them that. I'll deny it until they die! I can't believe I've been writing this blog for four years. It started as a health/wellness thing and over the years has morphed to include so many things that I don't know how to describe it anymore. I really thought this was going to be the final year of the blog but then Donald Trump came along. It looks like we're good for four more years..God help us all! Oh yeah...the biographical stuff. I'm not 60 anymore. The rest you can read about in the blog.
