It’s August. Just a few weeks left until the end of summer. Time for one more mini-vaca before school starts. So where should a couple go?
Yeah…I know, I know BUT….
CLEVELAND ROCKS…so the song says (shrugging shoulders).
BUT…it’s only six hours away by car and it has the one place that I’ve wanted to see for a couple of decades…The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. So…it’s off to Cleveland.
Before you get to see the photos, here’s a quick review:
A. It’s less expensive than I thought it would be. Online tickets for seniors were only $21. Food prices were fair. A nice portion of Mac & Cheese was $6. The ten-inch mushroom pizza was $12.
B. Can a place be cool and cheesy at the time? Absolutely! However, the memorabilia is awesome.
C. I was very disappointed with the exhibits of the inductees. Yes, I did like all of their autographs under their name but I thought there might be plaques or statues of the bands/artists. I was surprised there were none.
D. I wasn’t sure I could see the place in one day. No problem…five hours and out. Easy peasy. If I can do it, so can you. You don’t have to put on the headphones at every music station. Look, take a photo, move on!!
After all that, let’s look at some rock and roll history:
That’s it for the R&R HOF. By the way of you’re in Cleveland, go to dinner at Osteria! Wonderful food, service, wine and it’s romantic. We were the only people eating there on Thursday night. Hopefully that’s not a sign they’re going under. I’d link their website but they don’t have one. Hmmm….maybe that’s why they didn’t have any customers, ya think? But here’s their Facebook page.
And if the Indians are in town, hit up Progressive Field. Beautiful park!!
