2016: The year of musical death

At the start of each year, I like to look at who the music world has lost in the previous 365 days. Most of the time, it’s easy to find a top ten and number one choice is fairly obvious. This isn’t most years.

2016 was a horrible year for losing members of the entertainment industry. The music industry took the largest hit with the deaths of more than fifty people. It seemed like each week a bigger name was dying.

On this year’s list five or six of them would have been number one in most years. Like I said above, 2016 wasn’t like most years.

Here’s the list of the Top Ten music industry figures to die in 2016:

There wasn’t room to honor everyone who died last year. We also lost George Michael, Sharon Jones, Maurice White, Buckwheat Zydeco, Dan Hicks and Robert Stigwood.

Here’s the list for 2015, 2014, and 2013

My so called friends think it's time to edit this section. After four years, they may be right, but don't tell them that. I'll deny it until they die! I can't believe I've been writing this blog for four years. It started as a health/wellness thing and over the years has morphed to include so many things that I don't know how to describe it anymore. I really thought this was going to be the final year of the blog but then Donald Trump came along. It looks like we're good for four more years..God help us all! Oh yeah...the biographical stuff. I'm not 60 anymore. The rest you can read about in the blog.
