I'm On A Staycation

I’m Down. I’m really down.
I’m Down. Down on the ground.
How can you laugh when you know I’m down?
How can you laugh…when you know I’m down?

You’re thinking this is going to be one of those sad, whoa is me pieces about Depression. Nope…not today.

I admit the last month or so, I’ve been down about things. Too many people checking out, too young. Last week was especially bad…and writing about death and Cancer didn’t help. It’s suppose to be cathartic to write when you’re in pain….not always. Sometimes it makes it worse.

So……I decided I’m going on a Staycation. Yanno….one of those things where you do fun things while you stay at home. Now I know the people who actually know me will say…Umm Howie, aren’t you always on Staycation? The answer is well…sorta but this is different than hanging out and checking for the next Law & Order bingeathon…and there are a lot of those.

From last Sunday until November 14th, I’m going to do at least one fun, different or new thing each day. There’s a ton of things to do in Chicago. Sports, music, dining, museums, family…some cost $$$, some are free. Mix and match. We’re five days into this and the gallery will show you what you can do on your Staycation.

That’s it for Staycation. Bring on Thanksgiving, Christmas and more mopiness.

Don’t let it bring you down
It’s only castles burning
Find someone who’s turning
And you may come around.

My so called friends think it's time to edit this section. After four years, they may be right, but don't tell them that. I'll deny it until they die! I can't believe I've been writing this blog for four years. It started as a health/wellness thing and over the years has morphed to include so many things that I don't know how to describe it anymore. I really thought this was going to be the final year of the blog but then Donald Trump came along. It looks like we're good for four more years..God help us all! Oh yeah...the biographical stuff. I'm not 60 anymore. The rest you can read about in the blog.
