The Allman Brothers Band Finale

Tonight will be the final performance of the Allman Brothers Band. It ends a run of 45 years.

The band survived the deaths of Duane Allman, one of the greatest guitarists in rock history and their Bass player, Berry Oakley. Both were killed in motorcycle accidents one year apart. t

They continued on when Dickey Betts left the band.

However when the current guitarists, Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes decided to leave to concentrate on their own bands, Gregg Allman made the decision to call it a day.

Tonight’s final show will be at the Beacon Theater, in New York City. It’s a venue where the band has had a long run of sold out shows.

It’s been an incredible career for these guys. Any list of the greatest American bands would have them right near the top.

The following is a gallery of The Allman Brothers Band in pictures and songs.

My so called friends think it's time to edit this section. After four years, they may be right, but don't tell them that. I'll deny it until they die! I can't believe I've been writing this blog for four years. It started as a health/wellness thing and over the years has morphed to include so many things that I don't know how to describe it anymore. I really thought this was going to be the final year of the blog but then Donald Trump came along. It looks like we're good for four more years..God help us all! Oh yeah...the biographical stuff. I'm not 60 anymore. The rest you can read about in the blog.
