Bertolli Soup-Tasting Giveaway

Bertolli Soup-Tasting Giveaway

Bertolli recently released a new product that I’m super excited about: Bertolli Premium Soup Meals for Two. These soups, found in the frozen-food section of your grocery store, come in four mouth-watering flavors: Chicken Minestrone, Roasted Chicken & Ritoni Pasta, Tomato Florentine & Tortellini with Chicken, and Tuscan-style Beef & Vegetables.

So far, He Sips and I have tried two of these soups and we love them already. They are super easy to make (in minutes, really); they’re nearly impossible to burn or mess up; they taste delicious. Really. I’ve had the Tomato Florentine & Tortellini with Chicken twice now for dinner because it’s so good. Pair it with a thick slice of crusty bread and you’ve got a meal. Better yet, add a glass of Soave, my new favorite Italian dry white wine for fall. It’s light and crisp like a pinot grigio but more complex and interesting, especially with food.

I thought the soup (because of the salt in it; more than 40% per serving) needed something white. Maybe it’s because with the steamy soup, I needed something cool to drink. With wine or without, these soups are WORTH the price (about $9). You will feel just full enough after eating them. The perfect I-don’t-really-feel-like cooking-tonight meal, which I find myself thinking too many nights!

Try Bertolli’s soups for FREE and win a cast-iron soup pot from Crate and Barrel (which is the perfect size to cook these soups in). Bertolli sent me this prize pack too–and it’s awesome! Check out my photos below of the Tomato Florentine & Tortellini with Chicken simmering the the pot you could win!

  • Tuscan-style Beef & Vegetables sounds divine. I think I will pair with a smooth Meritage blend I picked up in the Finger Lakes region last weekend. :)

  • Pedro would love the Tuscan-style beef and veggies, I'm sure. I'm a sucker for any soup. As for wine pairings, you know I don't know my wines, but a bold red would seem good with a beef-veggie soup!

I'm a sucker for free soup!

The Tuscan-style Beef & Vegetables is the one I would like the most, I think, but the roasted chicken is also appealing to me.

    Thank you!

  • Awesome!! I would love to try make pasta soup, never done that before! So, the pics looks so mouth-watering! I'd like to do this with the Tomato Florentine & Tortellini!

  • In reply to monik:

I forgot to mention to pair this with Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio? I googled for some ideas.

  • I tweeted @hesipsshesips #Bertolli Excited to try this Bertolli I love pasta esp tortellini n ravioli n winter here soup pasta sound deliciously warm! my id bigdream2010
I don't know how to link it from twitter??

  • I have to admit to being skeptical UNTIL I saw those pics! I'd definitely try the roasted chicken with rotini and the tortellini with chicken (though hubby would want tomato florentine). My initial reaction on wine would have likely been a Pinot grigio but I will now probably follow your Soave rec!

  • My preference would be the tomato florentine with Bardalino.

I used to shy away from boxed or canned soups because of the high salt count, but since having kids sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do! I'm curious of the Chicken Minestrone... sounds appropriate for fall. And paired appropriately with a Chianti or acidic red. Or as you mentioned a crisp white.

  • Tomato Florentine & Tortellini with Chicken sounds delicious. I'd like to try it with pretzel bread and Chianti. Perfect for a chilly night!

Roasted Chicken & Ritoni Pasta with some Gewürztraminer. Now for the Tuscan-Style Beef with Vegetables, I would loose myself with this one,and a nice Shiraz!
I was going to run to the store, and get the Bertolli Chicken Florentine, and Farfalle but, I think you changed my mind! However I'm in search of a better wine pairing to go with the Chicken Florentine besides Pinot Grigio any suggestions?
