It’s not quite time to be thinking about our last hurrah of the Summer, but we are getting there.  The Windy City Wine Festival, located right around Buckingham Fountain could easily be the perfect last hurrah, but as it turns out, there’s still a few weeks until the Fall when we really need to start thinking that way.

A two-day wine festival, almost on the lake and in front of the Chicago Skyline is setting up for it’s 7th event to be held on Friday,  September 9 (4 – 10pm) & Saturday, September 10 (3 – 9pm).

With wine sampling clearly the focus there are more than 300 varieties from 50 vendors for your palette to explore.  But it’s not just about the wine, there’s some beers in there too and a number of Chicago’s fine restaurants selling some of their specialties.  There are also food and wine demonstrations throughout the event and musical entertainment in the evenings.

Tickets purchased online in advance are only $27 ($35 at the door) for one day admission and that’s a great deal no matter how you keep score – including 10 tastings (you can purchase more if you are so inclined), demonstrations, music and a souvenir glass.  They also thoughtfully price a designated driver ticket at $10.  A portion of the proceeds benefits the Grant Park Conservancy.

There’s more information available on their Site, or through Facebook and Twitter.

Have fun, enjoy your wine, and don’t get stressed!
