Bottle Review: Segura Viudas Brut Reserva

Some of my girlfriends and I have started a monthly poker night. Usually this consists of lots of gossip and food–and of course wine! Last Friday, I brought along a sample bottle we received–and my friends and I really liked it.

Retailing at $10, Segura Viudas Brut Reserva is a perfect bottle of cava (Spanish sparkling wine) for a girls’ night (or day–think bridal shower) celebration. It has the right balance of sweetness and acidity. Your friends who like, say, a sweet riesling will love it, but so will those who prefer a dry rosé.

Segura Viudas Brut Reserva is a cuvée of Macabeo, Parellada, and Xarel-lo grapes, which all grow in the Alt Penedes region of Spain.

Definitely a She Sips’ Buy-a-case rating–on taste and value!
