I’m still on track to remove 40 bags of crap from my house in 40 days. Yesterday I actually filled up two additional bags of literal crap (from the backyard; now that the snow is finally melting, we’re finding many little surprise pockets of dog poop).
The past few days haven’t been super exciting cleaning-wise. I knew that Friday and Saturday were going to be busy days, so I scheduled easy tasks. I cleaned out my nightstand and found…not much, except a few old, horrendous poetry journals. Then on Saturday, John cleared out the basement fridge, which we’re actually getting rid of because we only use it to hold beer that is about three years past its sell-by date. And now the basement has taken on a bit of a hoppy odor, which is not altogether unpleasant.
Yesterday I cleaned out the “art cabinet,” which is basically the server in the dining room. I got rid of a ton of stuff, as you can see:
Today I’m tackling the drawers above the art cabinet, which are basically full of takeout menus for restaurants that have probably closed and instruction booklets for appliances that are most assuredly no longer in our house.
