So, I’ve been a little lax with my 40 Bags in 40 Days.
It’s not totally my fault. It’s the fault of a lot of things. I didn’t realize when I started this project that March 2014 would wind up being one of the most difficult, draining, and stressful months in recent memory. I didn’t think about scheduling tasks in such a way that would keep me motivated. The kitchen, which I worked on last week, was in pretty good shape already, so there were no exciting surprises and there wasn’t much “Wow, I completed this” catharsis.
But today is a new day, and today I tackled one of the places in the house that needed the most help — the dreaded front hall closet. I got rid of lonely gloves and old scarves. I moved most of the shoes upstairs and put the coats on the back bar, so that we’d have a place for guests to hang their stuff when they come to visit.
The most interesting thing to come out of this was the realization that John has way, WAY more coats and jackets than I do. He’s needs Carrie’s closet from the Sex and the City movie to house all his outerwear. I have, like, three coats. Literally three coats.
