Getting on track with a healthy lifestyle
I wanted to take the time to fill you in on what I am doing to get on track with a healthy lifestyle since having my daughter whom is 15 months old. I pointed out in my previous post that my motivation was returning because push came to shove. I identified the need to get on track with a healthy lifestyle due to my health concerns and wanting to be there for my kids.
What’s your reason to want to be healthy? Ask yourself is that enough of a reason to get you going on a healthy regiment. If is not, then do a pros and cons assessment of doing nothing about your health. Then do the same assessment on being proactive for getting on track with a healthy lifestyle. I talked to my boyfriend about these thoughts and he was a great sounding board.
I had my reasons why I wanted to get on track with a healthy lifestyle. Those reasons why have become my motivators. I want to feel good about myself and keep up with my kids. I have always said in Weight Watchers meetings that I want to live to know my great grandkids.
After I had my reasons, I started publicly sharing how I felt and that I wanted to get on track with a healthy lifestyle again. I posted on my personal Facebook page and my fan page. I feel this kept me honest and set the wheels in motion to change my habits.
I feel it was beneficial to share my struggle to get back on track after the birth of my daughter because other’s can relate too. A tool I had forgotten about, but a fellow Gwynspiration fan reminded of was to listen to weight loss success stories again. I use to read Weight Watchers stories and listen to Half Size Me podcasts. I downloaded a lot of the podcasts I hadn’t listened to and listened to them on my ride to and from work.
I started to feel I can do this. I’m not a failure. I own my decisions to be on track with a healthy lifestyle. I WILL do this!!!
It was such a good feeling to over come the “should” thinking and shift to the positive mind frame. The following is a list of what I have in my tool kit for being on track with a healthy lifestyle.
2. got out home work out DVDs and planned to work out in the evening
3. prepped my lean meats and veggies on Sunday
4. posted my thoughts and struggles on Gwynspiration
5. developed a Gwynspiration Accountability Support group on Facebook (everyone needs support)
6. started to limit drinking pop/soda/coke to not anymore
7. saying positive affirmations
Here is a side note: if you want to join my Gwynspiration Accountability Private FB group, please email me on fan page and I will add you. Thanks
I suggest to start small and work yourself up. A lot of these things come together in time. You wont know it all nor be perfect. I don’t eat perfect nor should I because I don’t want to resent having a healthy lifestyle. I have successfully tracked my foods on my app for 12 days straight and lost 1.2 lbs. I feel more on track with a healthy lifestyle than I did two weeks ago.
