I lost 100 pounds: sharing my story
100 lbs lost

I lost 100 pounds!!!

Officially on June 8, 2013, I  lost 100 pounds at my Weight Watchers weigh in.  I didn’t think this would be the day because according to my scale at home, I was point 2 away from the official 100 pounds.  When I stepped on the scale, my eyes were in disbelief.  My leader, Robin added up the total and said congrats you did it.

I cried happy tears and said very loud I lost 100 pounds!  I lost 100 pounds!  I quickly said I needed to get my husband that was at home and I would be back to celebrate.  My son was playing a game on my phone during this time.  I was shaking with excitement.  I quickly said to my son, we needed to go back to the house to get my shirt and hubby.

I purchased my shirt three weeks prior from cafe press and was excited to finally wear it.  I grabbed my progression pictures and I tried to find my size 24 pants to bring.  In the frantic search for the pants, I gave up and went on without them.

Near the end of the meeting I got to share that I lost 100 pounds in 16 months with Weight Watchers and working out at Zip Fitness.  My leader, Robin, sat down and I wasn’t ready to take the floor but I shared different tid bits of my journey.

I shared my different things that have changed since I lost 100 pounds.  I encouraged them to check out my different posts on my blog .  You can check out those posts by going to part 1, part 2, part 3, and part 4.

I wished I had 1 hour or longer to share about how I lost 100 lbs.  I was proud to wear my shirt and have everyone celebrate with me.  I did tell everyone that we are in this together and there is no reason anyone should feel alone.  We eat together, why not lose weight together.

I don’t think I would have been as motivated as I am now with out Weight Watchers and my other supports I have established.  I feel more in control having these supports in my toolbox of weight loss.

I posted I lost 100 pounds on my facebook page and that’s when different pages asked if they could feature a story about me.  Patti from Heavy Girl to Healthy Girl blog  featured a story about me on her blog and facebook page.  Healthy Habits with Hillary had me as their Saturday Super Star Transformation and you can see the post by following this link.

I’m excited to announce that Zip Fitness will be hosting a celebration event about my 100 lbs loss on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at 7pm.  The event is open to the public and anyone is invited to come.  The address is 126 S. Bolingbrook Dr, Bolingbrook, IL.  Food will be served and I will have a chance to tell my story at the event.  Please RSVP by going to the invite on facebook.

I would enjoy meeting new people that has been following my blog.  It would be an honor.  I hope you can come.

In order to get the word out about this event, I contacted Bolingbrook Patch Online News.  I was able to talk to Melissa about my weight loss and she plans to type up the article by next week.  This week I was interviewed by Bolingbrook Reporter.  I’m told that my story will be page 3 of the newspaper by Wednesday, but the interview can be viewed online by Friday next week.

All this exposure has been keeping me accountable for my goals.  What goals are you working towards?
