How To Make Fashion Bracelets Out Of Plastic Bags
Supplies: 3 plastic bags, one pair of scissors
1. Lay Each Bag Flat and Cut Across The Bottom, Removing The Sealed Portion
When the bag is lain flat, open end facing away from you, cut across the bottom of the bag, removing the sealed portion. You should now have three bags that will function as nothing more than fashion bracelets or broken bags, given that they lack the ability to hold anything.
2. Tie The 3 Strips Into A Knot
Once you have three strips of plastic, one from each bag and tie them together. You should end up with a knot which has three strips of plastic protruding from it. (Hopefully they are colorful and happy strips of plastic, as opposed to boring “I am a boring person” strips of plastic.)
3. Tape Down The Knot To Facilitate Easy Braiding
Take a short piece of tape and secure the knot to a flat surface with the strings extending towards your body. (It will be important that your orientation is correct when attempting to follow the braiding instructions.
4. Braiding Part One
In order to learn how to make fashion bracelets out of plastic bags, you will need to know how to braid. If you can do this on your own, skip to step number six. (If you can braid, then this whole post was probably self-explanatory.) The first step to braiding is as follows: Take the strip of plastic that is on your right and place it over the middle strip. Now place the left strip on top of the right strip. The right strip of plastic bag should now be on top of the middle strip but below the left piece of plastic.
5. Braiding Part Two
It is important to note that these instructions refer to the strips of plastic as they were orientated before any change was made. The right string, which should have been put over the middle strip and under the left strip, will still be referred to as the right strip of plastic. Take the right piece of plastic bag and move it over the left strip. Repeat These two steps until you have a braid of the desired length.
6. Tie The Ends Together and Cut Off The Extra Plastic
Take the two ends of unbraided plastic and tie them together, and then clip the remaining ends to refine your intricate piece of jewelry. I hope you enjoyed learning how to make fashion bracelets out of plastic bags! Stay eco-friendly.
