OK, so this may be a bit of “blowing our own horn” here, but there’s an event coming up this Friday (March 1st, 2013) down at The Plant, that readers of this space might find appealing … even though (in interest of “full disclosure”) it is something that the authors of Green Tech Chicago are putting on!
The event is being dubbed “An Evening with the Worms” and it’s sort of the public debut of our “urban vermiculture project”, Nature’s Little Recyclers. We’re going to be featuring talks by a number of folks involved with The Plant, plus hope to have some guest speakers from other “urban agriculture” ventures, and possibly politicians, press, and others of note (we’ve invited a lot of folks!). We’ll be sampling some of the greens being produced at The Plant, as well as some locally-made breads, jams, and other treats (but no worms, unless you end up bringing a vermivorous pet – we might have some snacks for them!).
The event runs from 4-8pm down at 1400 W 46th St … there’s plenty of parking, and your can get to it fairly easily on public transportation (details on this are HERE) … more info is on our EventBrite Page. It’s free, and should be both fascinating and fun … so we hope you’ll be able to visit.
