The top 10 thoughts I have as I prepare to return to work

What day is it?

I had such a great couple days. I’m not worried at all. About anything. Thanksgiving is such a wonderful holiday.

Oh wait, it’s Sunday. Ew. Work resumes tomorrow.

Where are my work pants? I don’t want to leave the warmth of comfortable clothing for the pain of business casual. Do they even still fit?

Deep sadness sets in. I have to return to a classroom of young adults again. And pretend to like it every minute of the day.

But wait, there’s a Harry Potter marathon on TV. Thank you sweet baby Jesus. Fears somewhat alleviated.

Commercial. Sunday scaries set back in. The scaries are real. VERY real.

See advertisement for 25 days of Christmas and begin to cry. Christmas is a month away. Woof.

Resolve to making your lunch for tomorrow and weep at all the broccoli you have to include because the Thanksgiving holiday is officially over and it’s time to get back on a healthy track. Attempt a jog when you remember this. Fail.

Relish every moment of the holiday break by wearing warm slippers while you dust off the laptop to get back to the real world. Thank goodness you have one more Harry Potter movie left to watch to stave off the Sunday blues.
