White Sox Winter Leagues Preview - Dominican Republic

This is the second installment in our staggered previews of the Winter Leagues.  Our preview of the Venezuelan and Australian leagues went up a few days ago, with Venezuela already playing and Australia opening on the 31st.  With no players going to Mexico this year, this leaves two other leagues to preview: The Dominican and... The Charlotte Knights’ offense is heating up and this week another resurgent prospect followed Tyler Flowers’ lead and took the hot hitter spot. On the flip side, a pair of Knights’ teammates are struggling to get things going this year. Hot Hitter: Jordan Danks, CF, AAA Last week it was Tyler Flowers, this week Danks... Read more »

FutureSox Prospects of the Month: June 2010

De Aza had been injured, but since coming back he has been killing the ball. He hit .440/.491/.720 with 2 HR, 3 BB and 8 K in 50 AB. His scorching hot June included a 5 hit performance June 28. Overall he is hitting .306/.391/.441. Solid enough numbers for a speedy outfielder. He also is 9/9 in steals. De Aza, 26, has Major League experience and probably has more Major League time in his future if he keeps hitting like this and stays healthy.
Rookie ball is gearing up and the second half of the minor league season is underway. The Winston-Salem Dash were the only first half division winners for the White Sox. There still have been a few strong performers in what has been an otherwise disappointing minor league season in the Sox organization. Let’s see who... Read more »

The White Sox have named their 25-man roster for Opening Day and they’ve played their last game in Glendale. Our season preview series is also coming to a close. We finish by taking a look at the centerfielders of the minor league system. It’s a deep group of talented athletes. Best prospect: Jared Mitchell 2009... Read more »
