The first of the doubleheader, the Barons fell to the Biscuits in Terry Doyle’s return to the White Sox organization. The Biscuits’ four run third inning propelled them to victory.

Birmingham took the second game of the doubleheader after Nick McCully shined in his first start of the year. The Birmingham offense had a number of contributors with 14 base runners (7 extra base hits in just seven innings.
Former White Sox Jim Thome threw out the first pitch at the Knights’ home opener.
Micah Johnson had to leave the second game of the double header early after he was hit by a pitch in the forearm. The early exit ended Johnson’s four-game hit streak.
Kannapolis’ postponed game will result in a doubleheader tomorrow for the Intimidators.
