If you have a lot of running around to do, grab a day pass for only $5.75 at Jewel or Walgreens for unlimited CTA travel for 24 hours.
The Bus and Fly is the best….it’s reliable and only $2 to get to O’Hare or Midway. Here’s the schedule and routes. Also a free shuttle at O’Hare will take you to the nearest Metra stop. Nice!

It’s not just for tourists….avoid traffic and take a water taxi! They are cheap, quick and scenic! It’s only $2 for a single ride to Madison, LaSalle/Clark or Michigan Ave and only $4 to Chinatown. You can buy a day-pass online for only $6.
Chicago is very bike-able with a long lake-front path and many times it’s quicker than driving! Keep in mind that Bikes are allowed on the Metra trains and that CTA buses have bike racks on them as well!
