I know that I may always seem upbeat and positive on this blog, and some people may read the blogs, and see me on Facebook and Twitter, and think I’m unstoppable… but let’s face it, I’m human. We are ALL human. Sometimes there are things that happen in our lives that cause us to go off course for a while. During these times it’s very important not to lose ourselves.
When times are rough you need to remember who you are. You need to remember what your goals are. What’s more important to you? Would you rather wallow in sorrow and pity and either starve or eat yourself sick with depression… OR… would you rather accept the circumstances of your life, reconnect with yourself, and keep taking steps forward?
Sure, the first option is usually easier, but no matter how many ways you look at it, when you suffer things are not easy. Staying in that place will just make things worse, however. When you continue to step forward in your life you will slowly get things to a better place… stay strong, move forward.
Who’s with me, here?
The important thing is to remember that you have your goals for YOU, not for anyone else. You have to keep moving forward for YOURSELF, not for anyone else. So, you can consult with friends and talk things out, but the decisions about what you do with your life are yours, not theirs. No one can tell you what to do. You have to decide for yourself.
So, if you are letting someone else, or some outside circumstance, stop you from reaching your goals, now is the time to stop. Now is the time to say, “I’m going to do this for myself, because I matter. I’m important!” If that means popping that DVD in the DVD player and getting your workout in, then do it! So something that will make you feel better, not worse. No more self sabotage. Let’s reach our goals!
