Fire cruise by FC Dallas 4-0

The Fire’s post-Hauptman era has begun with a comfortable 4-0 victory over visiting FC Dallas. They also pulled back to within three points of the seventh spot in the Eastern Conference with three games remaining.

CJ Sapong intercepted a horrid back pass attempt in the 7th minute and worked his way around goalkeeper Jesse Gonzalez to give the Fire an early lead. The Fire doubled the lead in the 16th minute when Jonathan Bornstein kept possession at midfield and allowed Brandt Bronico to skip a cross into Przemyslaw Frankowski at the far post for a tidy finish.

Sapong headed in Nicolas Gaitan’s corner kick in the 29th and the rout was on.

A bit of neat one-time passing and finishing between Frankowski and Nemanja Nikolic in the 39th capped the capped the scoring in the match.

  • Watching some of the match on TV, it felt like there was this energy of a team that's free to play good now.

I'm so glad Hauptman is Out.
