Fire earn draw in Los Angeles

The Fire rode a good team effort into a point on the road against the top team in MLS. They were able to escape the first half scoreless although Los Angeles FC had two near misses that kept the match level. David Ousted denied Cristian Ramirez from close range in the 18th and Nemanja Nikolic and Jorge Corrales cleared a ball off the line in the 28th.

The second half featured better chances from the visitors although the last touch in the final third was lacking on several occasions.

The match included a few new wrinkles with Przemyslaw Frankowski at right wing-back while newly acquired Francisco Calvo made his debut on the left side of a three-man backline.
